Description

A superb Victorian kingwood serpentine writing slope. This is the most beautiful writing slope I've ever seen. The shape is that of a French chiffonier/sideboard. All the veneers are in quarters. All the brass cast decoration is of the highest quality as you expect.
The serpentine doors open to reveal a wonderful rosewood interior with various letter racks, pen tray, double folding writing surfaces and fitted inkwells. It has it's original working lock'n'key. There are three Serves panels, all of a romantic theme. A small oval one to the back and two wonderful curved panels to each door. I don't think I've ever seen curved Serves panels before. I can not express enough the quality of this piece and in superb condition, I think it was bought to look at and not for real use.
