H Weston, Bristol Fusee Dial Clock

Description

An early Victorian fusee dial wall clock. A 12" painted dial signed ' H. Weston Bristol' with trefoil blued steel hands. A rosewood case case of good colour with a cast brass bezel surround. A small drop section with floral mother of pearl inlay. An 8-day duration fusee timepiece mechanism. Circa 1840.

Henry Weston of Bristol is recorded in A J Moores' 'The Clockmakers of Bristol' book as working from 1833 to 1862. He worked at 3, Nelson Place in Clifton in 1845 and 2, Brunswick Place from 1846-1862.
