Description
An early Victorian fusee dial wall clock. A 12" painted dial signed 'Dent London' with blued steel hands. A mahogany case case of good colour with a cast brass bezel surround. An unusually slim case. An 8-day duration fusee timepiece mechanism of high quality. Circa 1840.The Dent family of clockmakers are highly regarded and various members worked in the 19th century. The most famous clock by Dent is Big Ben.
