Description

A fine quality chronometer fusee ships clock. A 6" painted dial signed 'Thos. Leach 63 Mark Lane London' with a subsidiary seconds dial. Brass hands and a slow/fast adjuster above the 12 o'clock position. A cast brass bezel with bevelled glass and a silvered inner ring. A superb, chronometer fusee mechanism with maintaining power, of 8-day duration. Circa 1855.

Thomas Leach of London is recorded in Loomes 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1851-69.
