Description

A Sekonda Chronograph wristwatch. A black dial with multiple subsidiary dial including chronograph counter, seconds dial, tachymetre and telemeter. Dial signed made in USSR. A high quality 19 jewel caliber 3017 mechanism made by Poljot for Sekonda. This case, dial and mechanism configuration was the same as used on the Strela models which were used by Russian Cosmonauts. The Strela was the first watch ever to be worn in space, they were marketed under the names 'Sekonda' 'Poljot' or simply 'Strela'. These watches are often called 'Russian Speedmasters'. Circa 1970.
