Description
A Georgian period mercury wheel barometer. A mahogany case with an architectural pediment and brass central finial. Marquetry shell inlays to the case. A long engraved silvered dial. The main dial is engraved 'A FALCIOLA NOTTINGHAM WARANTED'. Circa 1820.A Falciola of Nottingham is recorded in Banfields 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book as working from 1810-1830.
