Description

A "30 hour" long case clock by Josiah Kember of Shaw.
11 inch square dial with silvered chapter ring, engraved centre with cast gilt spandrel.
Case is oak and mahogany, reeded columns to hood.
The The mechanism has an optional strike facility (later addition).
By disabling the strike, the clock will run for approximately 1 week (rather than 30 hours) before the weight needs to be raised.
Case and mechanism have been professionally restored. Josiah Kember is known to have worked from 1771 to 1777 (ref Loomes)
