Rare French mother of pearl needle box, c. 1850

Description
This is a rare and elegant mid-19th Century French Palais Royal needle box. The slant cover engraved with the words "Aiguilles" - Needles - and heightened in navy blue. It was designed to hold needle packets hence no lining was required.Dimensions:
Height: 5cm / 2 inches.
Width: 2.5cm / 1 inch.
Depth: 1.5cm / 0.5 inches.
