This beautiful and very ornately styled games table features a wonderful multi-functional design. The green tooled leather top in the center of the table lifts up with a hinged bracket that alters it to a writing table. It also slides forward so that it can be removed to reveal a recessed backgammon board with leather detailing. Each of the demi Lune shaped sides of the squared centrepiece on the top is trimmed with a brass gallery and flips up to reveal storage space for cards, chips and board pieces, as well as for tools for drawing and painting. The table also has a deep sewing box drawer below this and finishes with a platform styled bottom shelf supported by four swept back short legs on brass castors with hairy paw feet. The sewing box has an outer covering of a pale yellow padded linen fabric and lined inside with green. It measures 27 ½ in – 69.8 cm wide, 16 ¼ in – 41.3 cm deep and 28 ¾ in – 72 cm in height.
