A rare and good quality 18th.Century Portuguese solid Brazilian rosewood bureau. The top having a shallow double beaded gallery leading to the panelled and cross banded fall with applied mouldings and engraved escutcheon. The superb serpentine shaped interior having an arrangement of 15 various sized drawers with 3 secret drawers and pull out central cupboard which conceals a secret cubby hole. The lower section having 2 short over 3 wide drawers all with brass engraved handles and escutcheons with original working locks & keys. The sides with applied decorative mouldings and quality brass carrying handles. The whole raised on short shaped original legs. Condition- very good for age with a few minor old repairs.
