A beautiful and good quality 19th C. planter, plant stand or jardiniere. The removable marquetry lid inlaid with musical instruments and vine leaves in birds eye maple, walnut, box wood, satinwood and green stained sycamore, all set within a mahogany border with gilded handles. The interior retaining the original green metal liner which sits in the mahogany and inlaid frame having rounded corners with marquetry patrae and gilded brass pierced gallery. The frieze having further mounts to all sides and supported on 4 turned, tapering and reeded legs with further gilded mounts joined with supporting stretchers and mounts. Condition- Very good and original. Plants and flowers etc. can be displayed when in flower and when not the lid can be replaced and used as a side of lamp table. Dimensions:- Height…30’’/ 76cm.
