A good quality 19th.century Anglo Indian brass inlaid and brass bound beautifuly figured camphor wood campaign writing box. As the drawer is pulled open the tambour top rolls back and the rising section can be lifted via the 2 sprung battens at each end. This reveals the 3 small drawers, various pigeon holes and compartments. The black velvet lined sloping fall opens to a fitted interior with pen tray, lidded compartment and a circular straight edge. The sides and front having sunken brass carrying handles and this unusual piece of campaign furniture has working lock with key and is in very good original condition. Dimensions:- Height…9’’/ 23cm.
