An original and unusual George III flame mahogany and inlaid tantalus in the guise of a knife box The flame mahogany sloping lid with ebony and boxwood chevron inlay and serpentine shaped front. The lid opens to reveal the mahogany lined interior with 3 original cut glass decanters and an ebony and boxwood inlaid star. The box retains the original brass fittings and carrying handles.
