Description

A late Victorian convalescence wheel chair manufactured by Alfred Carter of 47 Holburn Viaduct, London (pre 1899). The reclining back adjusted by quality brass fittings, the arm-rests, drop-in seat, back cushion and foot rest have all been re-upholstered in top quality hand dyed leather with buttoned back and seat. The cane is also in excellent condition with no damage.The whole raised on oversized spoked front wheels with wooden hand rails and smaller spoke wheel to the back. chair retains the original maker’s label for Alfred Carter which is also on the brass hub caps. Condition- Very good, in full working order and fully restored with polished brass. Dimensions:- Height…42.5''/ 108cm. Width… 30.5''/ 77.5cm. Depth…38.5''/ 98cm. Seat Height…20.5''/ 52cm.
