A very decorative Japanese Meiji period shodana on stand. The brown and black lacquer cabinet having chased copper hinges and decorative mounts (note top R.H. corner mount missing). The doors with raised and gilded decoration of feeding chickens with flora & fauna. The doors open to reveal two banks of three black lacquer drawers with a continuous Japanese landscape scene in gilded lacquer. Below is a deep drawer leading to the separate stand which has conforming decoration and stands on bold cabriole legs. Condition - Good with a few bumps and bruises associated with age and use.
