A beautiful and unusual Bettridge & Co. of Birmingham papier mache spoon back occasional chair. The back having mother of pearl splashes between gilded lines. The shaped splat with a very decorative mother of pearl and a well painted sprig of English flowers including bluebells, snow drops, primroses and fuchsia etc. The chair has a rattan seat above the shaped frieze which has further gilded and m.of p. splashes and is raised on front cabriole legs with out swept back legs. The whole in remarkable original condition and would make ideal as a bedroom chair. Dimensions:- Height…35’’/ 89cm. Width…17.25’’/ 44cm. Depth…21’’/ 53.5cm. Seat Height…14.5’’/ 37cm.
