Stunning Quality Roman Terracotta Head c2000 years old

This is an absolutely stunning ancient work of art!
There is some exquisite and intricate detailing on this wonderful terracotta head.

The facial features and hair are beautifully displayed and this artefact would decorate any room or display cabinet.

You can see realistic way that the full lips, plump cheeks, eyes and nose are delineated. The expression on the face is exquisite – not quite a smile but an air of dignity, commanding respect.

The way that the wavy and curly hair is depicted is exceptional. There appears to be some sort of crown or laurels around the head. This is a beautiful object!

Please note that there is a reasonably clean break along the neck as this would have been a full figurine. Unlike many similar heads, the nose and face is in very good condition. Often the nose is damaged or even missing. There are some inclusions but these are from the time of manufacture and are part of the history of this piece.
