We are selling this lovely quality 19th Century Japanese satsuma bowl. Unusually the bowl is shaped as a 'square round', circular to the inside and bottom and square to the top. Inside is decorated with elders and small enamelled horse with the 'white' parts of the decoration enamelled. Around the outside faily scenes, geishas and warriors. All beautifully and finely painted. Geometrical border around the inside and also outside.With a small child at one edge peering in to the bowl. Signed to base as shown in picture.

Measuring 4 1/2 inches in diameter and height of 2 3/4 inches. In good original condition appropriate for age with rubbing to gilding on rim edge.
