Description

Superb quality 19th Century Vienna hand painted cabinet plate. The central scene being a maiden who has chastised a cherub. She wears a brightly coloured pink and white robe and the small seated cherub appears wiping away his tears. The scene is set within a raised gold border and then the remainder of the plate is decorated with brightly coloured scrolls of pinks, blues and greens. On the back is the blue beehive stamp.

The plate meaures 9 1/2 inches in diameter and is in lovely condition.
