A delightful landscape with Dorothy and Aurea Howard playing near Castle Howard, painted by their father, George James Howard, 9th Earl of Carlisle.

George Howard was a distinguished member of the Etruscan School of Art founded in the winter of 1883-4 by Nino Costa.

Oil on board 13 x 10ins.

The painting is extensively inscribed with provenance on the reverse. " Dorothy and Aura painted at Bog Hall near Castle Howard...." Bog Hall is part of the Castle Howard estate.
