Description

A wonderfully carved, and unique tobacco jar in the form of a Parrot.
Dating to the early 1900s, this jar probably originates from the Black Forest area, known mainly for the Black Forest bears.
As can be seen in the photos, it is in excellent condition, with fine, heavily carved detail to the whole body.
The parrots head fits nice and tightly to the body, and is removed by carefully turning/twisting it off.
The parrot has glass eyes and a nicely carved beak, made from horn.
It measures approx 18cm high, and has a base and inside compartment diameter of approx 8cm.
