Description

A charming George III period antique fruitwood Mendlesham chair, Circa 1780-1800.
These chairs were only made in the village of Mendlesham, Suffolk.
With shaped cresting rail over a typical Mendlesham type back (with decorative stringed inlay) with shaped central splat flanked by spindles and turned balls below leading to shaped arms, shaped seatboard and four turned legs united by an "H" stretcher.
A sturdy chair which is ready to go.
Condition - good colour. Minor surface marks to the seatboard commensurate with age.
