Victorian carved oak settle

Here we have a Victorian carved settle with a box seat. The seat-lid lifts to reveal an open storage space, this is a fantastic useful area to store items quickly away from view.

The back consists of a 4-panel back, each individually carved with shields and foliage, and with a central bar of mythical beasts.
The shaped arms, also carved, link to the base with a well turned support.
The box base again with carved panels to the front.
