Antique mahogany coffee table

This antique mahogany table is adapted from an antique cheval mirror stand. it would have been made into this piece at the early part of the 20thc.
There is no such thing as an original antique coffee table, and so cabinet makers looked to find items they could adapt to make such items. The love of good timber and the craftsmanship of the antique pieces made these items very desirable. Here we have a very attractive example on sale.

The top is a very good piece of solid mahogany of great colour. The base with splay legs ending with fantastic brass castors.
