Regency mahogany cylinder desk
This Antique mahogany cylinder desk was made circa 1820
It is a stunning desk to the eye the cabinetmaker chose wonder timbers to give it the utmost impact when it was placed in the home.
Having the wonderful cylinder front with the panel of flame mahogany edged with fine brass piping, the frame in fiddle back mahogany as you would see on fine violins.
The cylinder rolls back to reveal the sliding leather wring surface, and blind compartment doors that drop forward to reveal fitted sections with drawers and pigeonholes.
Not only do you have the fabulous exterior you have the second wow as the interior is revealed.
Under the cylinder top you have the long drawers above the kneehole with a pair of smaller drawers to each side.
It then stands on square taper legs finishing on square cup castors.
