Description

Georgian mahogany sideboard
The Lockerley sideboard.
This fine Georgian mahogany sideboard was made circa 1830 probably in Scotland.
These sideboards are magnificent in quality and stature.
Quite often a sideboard of this period has square tapering legs, but this fine example has the reeds to the legs and columns to each side of the bowed end doors.
At the rear of the top is a full length that has a bowed section at each end perfect for the display of lamps candlesticks etc.
The centre serpentine shaped oak lined drawer is above the sliding napery drawer, with a bow shaped cupboard to the left and a bottle drawer to the right.
Each drawer and cupboard fitted the original brass handles with the ring pulls.
We have purchased this from an important country home in the Hampshire village of Lockerley.
Imagine having this superb piece of Georgian furniture in your home and the pleasure it will bring as well as how useful it is.
