Edwardian inlaid curio display cabinet
This Edwardian inlaid curio display cabinet was made circa 1900.
A cabinet of this type was used to display precious items that had been purchased by the owners of their travels on a grand tour. On these expeditions they would bring home curios of their travels so that they could display and show off when friends and families visited. It would have been put in the best room of the house to show visitors that they were wealthy enough to travel and so had importance in society.
Imagine what interesting treasures would have been displayed in this during its lifetime.
The cabinet of rectangular shape that have bow glass to the front and rear.
You access the cabinet through a door at the side, that opens so that you can place your cherished items on the glass shelf and the base that is lined in fabric.
