Description

Antique oak dresser base

This Antique oak dresser base was made circa 1850.
Oak dresser bases of this style make elegant useful pieces for a hall dining room, or your drawing room. They are not too deep and so make great serving pieces for a dining area.
It is cross banded in mahogany and stands on cabriole legs with pointed pad feet.
The dresser base is fitted 3 drawers and brass fretted swing handles.
Originally these dressers had a plate rack, but people now prefer them to have nothing on the top enabling a picture or mirror be hung above it.
These dressers were made in the country and so the materials to hand were used, hence the original scarfed in piece to the rear of the top, this is all part of its history and the charm of a true antique item.
Imagine how good this will look in place in your home, it is sure to attract much admiration.
