Pair of mahogany bedside tables
This pair of mahogany bedside tables were made in the first half of the 20thc.
Each table is fitted a full width drawer and a pull-out slide to place drinks or to give more surface when required. The top has a shaped tray-top border with cut out handle grips so that the tables can be moved easily if required.
The bedside tables stand on square legs chamfered at the rear (to chamfer (in carpentry) cut away (a right-angled edge or corner) to make a symmetrical sloping edge) The chamfer was something the best cabinetmakers added, especially on the back of table and chair legs to make them look less heavy.
