Description

This William IV mahogany scroll arm desk chair was made circa 1820, at a time when Great Britain was still basking in the great military Victories of Trafalgar and Waterloo.
The drop-in seats are known as Trafalgar seats, it also has sabre front legs which is another reference to England’s naval might at the time.
The chair is of an ample size, with the attractive and desirable feature of scroll arms.
The back has a central bow shape splat with a simple tablet to the centre and supports that join the uprights. The top rail with figured mahogany panel and with the carved segmented crest.
This chair will look great behind most period desks, whether they are mahogany, rosewood ,or walnut.
We have completely reupholstered the seat and it is covered in a pale green moleskin material. As it is of a very neutral colour it will suit almost any interior.
The chair has been restored and re-polished by our experienced craftsmen.
