Victorian burr walnut small Sutherland table

This Victorian walnut small burr Sutherland table was made circa 1870.
The oval shaped top that has superb burr walnut veneers, that the cabinet maker took time to select for its grain and colour.
The Sutherland table has a gate leg action, the legs swing out to support the drop flap leaves.
Sutherland tables are very useful tables as they are narrow when closed but make a good usable size when open. Very light to move round your home and can be used with just one flap up if required.
The smaller versions like this example, are very popular and can fit so well into our modern lifestyles.
The table has fine turned legs with castors, and a pair of turned walnut supports at each end, these are joined by a central stretcher.
This table is so versatile and can be used in many situations around your home.
It would make a superb coffee table that could be placed in the centre of your room for guests, or as a day to day table set by your chair or between a pair of chairs.
We have sold them also as bedside tables and placed in bay windows.
