Description

Edwardian mahogany bureau
This Edwardian mahogany bureau was first made circa 1910.
The example we are offering you, is from the best end of the market, it would have been made in a top workshop before being sold by a premium retailer, probably Maples.
The bureau has a fall that pulls forward, to reveal the fitted interior of small drawers and pigeon holes. The fall when opened has a simple, but clever mechanism that brings forward the fall supports for when you are working on the writing surface.
The bureau fall has an inset banding around the centre flame mahogany panel.
Below the fall there are a pair of drawers and then a pair of full width drawers below. Each drawer has its original brass swing handle.
The bureau has shaped bracket feet cut into the plinth.
77.5cms wide (30 1/2ins)
103cms high (40 1/2ins)
47cms deep (18 1/2ins)
