Description

Antique Georgian mahogany military chest
We are delighted to offer you this Georgian 2 part military chest.
This Military chest is a decade or so earlier, than most you will see for sale.
Made of mahogany and with the flush inset brass corners and handles.
The top section with 2 small drawers and a long drawer below, the bottom section with 2 long graduated drawers.
The military chest has its brass carrying handles to each end.
The drawers are oak lined, and so points to this particular chest being ordered by an officer in England, before going on his campaign overseas.
This chest would have been lashed to the deck of a man of war, or deep below deck, before it was taken over the oceans to where the Officer was stationed.
