This Antique merchants chest in hardwood is of large size.
This would make an amazing coffee table.
The hinged lid that opens at the middle of the top, opens to reveal a large open storage area, a fantastic cavernous area to store things.
Used by wealthy merchants and people of importance to transport their valuables, gold and silk, along the trading routes in the East.
This trunk stands on turned feet
Made of hardwood and then bound in iron strapping, to protect the contents from the hard arduous journeys they undertook. This could have been lashed to the deck of a ship, as well as on a wagon pulled by oxen or even elephants.
Imagine the stories this could tell, and the conversations struck up with your family and friends as your mind goes back in time to the adventures of those days.
