Description

Regency mahogany chamfer top bracket clock by James Burroughs, Ironbridge, c.1825.
The chamfer top case is veneered in flame mahogany of attractive colour with raised ebonised detailing to the front and mouldings, silk backed fish scale sound frets and ornate carrying handles to the sides, a glazed rear door and standing on brass ball feet.
The convex 8" painted dial with Roman numeral hour markers and blued steel hands is signed 'James Burroughs, Iron Bridge', all beneath a hinged bezel and convex glass.
The 8 day double fusee movement with anchor escapement strikes the hours on a bell.
