Numbered 1557

This is a newly recorded clock by Thomas(1) Hampson of Wrexham....."At the Sign of The Clock, Wrexham (Wales) 1718, High Street 1728-48, Then Charles Street 1748-d1754. He Numbered some of his clocks but the sequence is not understood. Like this one some of his clocks were signed without his Christian name." (Brian Loomes - Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the world). Numbered 1557 this clock may well be towards the end of his life but as the sequencing is not understood, who knows????

Offered in Full working antique condition having just been serviced and oiled. The attractive Oak case is of good patination and solid structure.
