Description

A very attractive and sturdy 19th century cast iron garden bench with later replacement Jarrah slats, The castings are in great condition with no breaks or repairs, the paint is layers and layers of old paint that has weathered and now flaking which is showing through the original base colour of green. The Jarrah slats are from reclaimed timber salvaged from the roof lining of The Old Rectory in Dongara, West Australia. Jarrah is a very hard wearing timber that is naturally resistant but not impervious to rot and pest attack. The salvaged timbers do have defects and old nail holes but nothing that effects the strength but rather adds to the appeal.
