A superb rare pair of Francois Carre armchairs, this design of chair was commissioned by Le Corbusier from Francois Carre for Carlos (Charles) de Beistegui when Le Corbusier designed and built his Penthouse Apartment on the Champs-Elysées in Paris between 1929 & 1931. They are constructed of round iron sections and sprung steel with the seat having the classic pinwheel in the centre.
There are several photo’s where these armchairs can be seen online used to great visual effect.

These two chairs are in good vintage condition (especially considering they are outdoor chairs from the early 30’s), they have old repairs as can be seen in pictures and sun faded white paint and weathered.
