Description

This is a good Victorian mule chest. A mule chest is a combination of a lift up lid box top with drawers under. This one has 2 faux drawers in the top box and two real functioning drawers below. It has a hinged top and plenty of space in the storage box. The drawers below are both a good size. It is mid Victorian, made from pine with a glorious pale golden colour. The drawers all have their original white porcelain knobs and beaded edges. One of the knobs has a chip on the edge which can be seen in the photographs, this can be turned to the bottom so it is less visible. The top is smooth with a shaped edge. The chest stands on elongated shaped feet with a lively shaped skirt. It is in very good condition, it stands well and level and is sturdy. All the handles are well attached and the drawers slide as they should. The finish is good and the colour is even.

The drawers measure wide x deep x tall.
