Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington.

Parian ware bust by Copeland & Garret circa 1840/47

The Duke is modelled in middle age. Dressed in civilian clothes and a robe having a fur lined collar.

In perfect condition ready for immediate display.

‘Parian’ is a form of porcelain developed in the early 1840s. It’s resemblance is of marble thus allowing an affordable way for people to furnish their homes with replicas of larger scale original sculptures.

Copeland & Garrett traded under this name 1833-1847.
