Description

A beautiful late 19th-century Satinwood Pembroke Table. With exceptional neo-classical inlays, intertwining laurel garlands, patrera, urns, husks and swags. All detailed with very fine penwork for extra effect. Curved ends with one drawer and the legs are set on the curve also. With ribbons and ascending husk inlay. Standing on block feet.
This exact model was either made by both Edwards and Roberts and Bertram and Sons, who both made identical tables to these, although not often seen. Both were very fine furniture makers during the 19th and early 20th century. The inlaid drawer and opposite end plus the legs are identical to the designs they both used. Unfortunately, this piece isn't stamped, yet one has to attribute it to either maker.
