1463 - A Very Handsome French Walnut Armchair. Dating from the 19th Century, Louis XV in style with beautiful carved legs front and back, side rails and swept arms. The frame is in very good order no loose joints or breaks. The Chair is upholstered in the most magnificent Verdure Beauvais Tapestry…..which one would think of as being 18th Century? It possibly could be. It still retains a lot of colour and depicts a deer hunting scene, with men on horse back. There is slight wear to the arms but no holes. There has been a repair to the top back left hand corner but again very slight and not that noticeable. This is the original cover for this chair. Showing no signs of previously being re-covered in the past. We have re-webbed underneath and the upholstery is in very good order. The whole is close studded with brass studs. The outer back is covered in a plain linen…which is faded and stained, this we could replace is so desired. At cost.
