A flame mahogany, secretaire Wellington chest

Description

A fine quality and attractive wellington chest, raised on a plinth base above which are 9 drawers that are retained by 2 flaps with blind fretwork and carved capitals. The secretaire drawer has a series of satinwood pigeon holes and drawers, the bottom right being a pen drawer with ink well, it also has a leather inset writing surface. The chest is in very good and original condition, retaining its original turned wooden knobs and locks. The 3rd drawer down is stamped with a makers mark on the underside "B Taylor & Son Cabinet & Upholstery 167 Gt. Dover St" 1490mm high, 680mm wide and 480mm deep. Circa 1860.
