By Alphonse-Gustave Giroux, Paris. This delightful and outstanding quality piece is in amboyna and ebony with brass line inlay. Raised on bracket feet with ebonised turned supports leading up to the swiveling top with a single drawer to one side and a slide to the other. The top itself rises with adjustable pitch, removable book rest and inset tooled leather. The drawer lock bears the mark "M son Giroux PARIS" In very good condition. 760mm high, 390mm wide and 350mm deep. Circa 1850.
