Description

A fine burr oak partners desk in the manner of Holland & Sons. This beautifully made desk has nine drawers to one side and three drawers over cupboards to the reverse, all with mahogany drawer linings, brass knob handles and working Chubb Patent locks. Standing on plinth bases and original Lignum Vitae castors, the desk has a banded top with a thumb molding and a hand dyed black inset writing surface with gilt and blind tooling. In very good condition and with a lovely colour. 750mm high, 1630mm wide, 910mm deep and the knee-hole measures 600mm high and 640mm wide. English. Circa 1850.
