Description
A rarely found early 19th cent. Painted Whitewood Tunbridgeware Box with Original Pin Cushion on the Screw on Lid. The Decoration depicts a View of The Pavillion, Brighton, with bands of Green Leaves all round Base and Lid.I suspect this was used for enclosing small Sewing related items.In view of its age the Paintwork is still in good condition and just shows signs of wear commensurate with it age.Something special for the Collector.I am listed as a Private Dealer but some of my Stock can be viewed at The Antique Shop, 53, High Street Heathfield E.Sussex.If you wish, I am am able meet you there to discuss any items and also bring along any items which are not on Antiques Atlas but not displayed in the Shop.
