Description

Circa 1900. George 1st style crossbanded, figured walnut chest on stand with a lovely mellow colour. The polished top in quarter-matched figured walnut, above a moulded segmented cornice and 4 shaped-front graduated drawers with crossbanding, herringbone inlay, engraved cut brass handles and escutcheons, and solid oak drawer linings. The upper section with canted corners. The base with a foliate carved moulding and two short and one long drawer with matching details, all supported on short cabriole legs with shell carved knees and pad feet.
