Description
Circa 1820. A good late Regency carved and gilded pier mirror, the stylish top with break front sections on each end, with foliate carving with scallop shells in the corners, the frieze with palmettes, scrolling and gilding with an egg and dart beading beneath, the frame retains its original plate which is held in place by a simple slip with a smaller section of egg and dart, flanked by a pair of pilasters with capitals, including downward facing palmettes repeating in the center again and on the base. The mirror retains a lot of its original gilding, which has been embellished in a few locations.226 cm High x 127 cm Wide
