Circa 1840. Exceptional quality, large early Victorian Brazilian rosewood open bookcase. Surmounted by a simple moulded cornice, the upper sections in two parts, each with three adjustable shelves, flanked and divided by acanthus carved pilasters. The base with a beautiful figured-rosewood top with a lovely colour and patina above 4 shallow frieze drawers, over 2 deeper bookcases with single adjustable shelves. All over an enclosed moulded plinth base. In excellent condition.242cm High x 273cm Wide x 46cm Deep
