Description

Circa 1790. A late George III satinwood and painted demi lune fold over card table, the top in silky satinwood with a painted classical scene of Greek goddesses, the border with foliate painted pattern in rosewood with boxwood banding, the hinged top opens to reveal a crossbanded and felt lined interior, the back legs are hinged and swing out to support the table when open, the frieze with inlay on the top and bottom, resting on four square tapering legs with raised panels above the legs with a small gothic arch beneath, with string inlay on all sides finishing on an extended splayed toe.
